ATM Incident Investigation Techniques

Purpose of the Course:

This course will provide participants with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to participate in formal ATM incident investigations in an ATC workplace in accordance with ICAO Annex 13, ICAO Document 9426 and ICAO Document 9756.

Learning Objectives:

After successful completion of this course, participants will be able to investigate ATM incidents:

1. Collect and preserve evidence;
2. Conduct interviews;
3. Analyse evidence;
4. Appraise results from reconstruction.  

Target Population:

ATM managers, ATC workplace unit supervisors, ANSP safety managers, ATM occurrence investigation team members, ATC workplace unit trainers, and ATC workplace unit inspectors who, irrespective of their being employed by a civil or military ANSP or ATS Regulator, may be involved in ATM safety management.
