The Air Cargo Safety Management Course provides a foundation for State employees to manage their operational safety responsibilities and certain activities linked to passengers and cargo safety including items classified as dangerous goods in a disciplined, integrative and focused manner.  

Participants will be able to:

·       Authorize the operator to conduct certain commercial air transport through an air operator certificate in accordance with specific authorizations of the operations specifications and State approved manuals and programs, and

·      Oversee the risk-based safety oversight as part of the State safety oversight program to ensure the operator’s continued compliance with specific risks and regulations, authorizations, limitations and provisions of its AOC and operations specifications achieve an acceptable level of safety performance (ALOSP) to the State. 

State Employees managing or performing certain State safety plan or program functions for safety oversight including, but not limited to, operator certification including evaluating, issuing and continually surveying operational approvals and authorizations for commercial air operations in support of the State safety risk control strategy related to aircraft cargo compartment safety including items classified as dangerous goods.
